Best Buy and Amazon are offering the Samsung Gear S2 smartwatch at a discount of $50.
Samsung launched the Gear S2 in late August 2015, upping its wearable game. The gadget has an innovative rotating bezel along with a Home and a Back button, which ensures comfortable and precise access to notifications and other applications on the device. The smartwatch has a 1.2-inch Super AMOLED touch screen, which makes it easy to navigate Web pages and apps.

It is the perfect complement for any occasion, easily taking you from day to night, from work to workout-and ensuring that you get more out of every moment in your day, by making it smarter and ultimately more personal and fun," said JK Shin, CEO and Head of Samsung's IT and Mobile Business.
The Gear S, predecessor of Gear S2, also attracted many smartwatch enthusiasts but it was only compatible with Samsung Galaxy phones and tablets. However, the Gear S2 is compatible with a number of non-Samsung Android smartphones that run on Android 4.4 Jelly Bean or above and have at least 1.5GB of RAM.
The Gear S2 is also IP68 certified, which means that the smartwatch is dust resistant and waterproof for up to 30 minutes in 1.5 meter deep water. The waterproof feature makes the Gear S2 ideal even for outdoor activities.
The Samsung smartwatch is available in two options: the Gear S2 and Gear S2 classic, and fans of both models can get a discount of $50 from Best Buy or Amazon.
The regular Gear S2 that has a price tag of $299 has been reduced to $249. The Gear S2 Classic is priced at $349, but after $50 discount customers can purchase it for $299. The platinum and rose gold Classic versions have been reduced to $399.
Best Buy is also offering a free set up facility for some Gear S2 smartwatches.
"A Geek Squad Agent will spend 1-on-1 time with you in store to help you set up and learn how to use the basic functionality of your device. An email with redemption instructions will be sent within 72 hours from store pickup date or item ship date," Best Buy says.
Best Buy customers also have the option of ordering their Gear S2 online and collect it from one of the company's brick and mortar stores.
