From the outside, you might mistake this South Korean home for an Imperial outpost straight out of "Star Wars."

That is by design, of course. The "Starwars" house, as it is called, by Korean architecture firm Moon Hoon looked to the original "Star Wars" trilogy for inspiration, and though the house doesn't copy any known buildings in the Star Wars universe, it sure would be right at home along with them.

It in many ways the design of the house looks like a combination of ideas and aesthetics from the Star Wars universe, rather than simply being lifted from a specific structure in a galaxy far, far away. Its geometric shape and strong lines invokes the Sandcrawlers operated by the Jawas on Tatooine, as if the house may simply drive away at a moment's notice. Unlike the brown Sandcrawler, the "Starwars" house is a light gray, giving it the appearance of a no-nonsense Imperial installation.

Speaking with Designboom, Moon Hoon shared some insight into the vision for the home, describing the top floor of the house as "a place high up that could be a control room for the future darth vader or a jedi."

That doesn't hold true for the interior of the home. While more modern than futuristic on the inside, the home does feature a few other cool elements like a hidden playroom behind a bookcase and a slide that connects two floors, but otherwise the interior of the home might not be what you would expect judging from the outside.

The layout of the house features a compact ground and first floor, while the upper story contains an open play room. Horizontal windows help to lend the house an Imperial look, while a central atrium provides sunlight into the home from the top. A wooden deck wraps around two sides of the home and the rocky outcrop and shrubs adorning the house also help to add the "Sandcrawler" vibe to the house.

The house was designed for a young South Korean couple looking to upgrade from an apartment to a small house with a garden. Moon Hoon says he also drew inspiration for the house's classic sci-fi look from the husband's childhood dream of becoming an astronaut.

All in all, Moon Hoon says the home took $200,000 to design and build. Not too shabby for a unique house that is sure to catch the attention of any "Star Wars" fan driving by.
