Disney has officially unveiled the plot synopsis for "Avengers: Age of Ultron." While it isn't much to go on, it does give us a few interesting new details, specifically revolving around how the evil robot Ultron will come to be.

"When Tony Stark tries to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and Earth's Mightiest Heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, are put to the ultimate test as the fate of the planet hangs in the balance," reads the synopsis.

While fans have speculated Stark's Jarvis A.I. might be the one to transform into the ravenous robot determined to wipeout all of mankind, it looks like this "dormant peacekeeping program" will instead be the one corrupted in Ultron. Jarvis will instead be given a body in the form of The Vision, an android and a longtime member of the Avengers team in the comics. Ant-Man Hank Pym is the original creator of Ultron in the Marvel comic universe, but as the "Ant-Man" film will be releasing after director Joss Whedon's second "Avengers" film, Marvel opted to give Tony Stark, arguably the most popular hero in Marvel's cinematic universe, responsibility for creating the villain.

"As the villainous Ultron emerges, it is up to The Avengers to stop him from enacting his terrible plans, and soon uneasy alliances and unexpected action pave the way for an epic and unique global adventure," the synopsis continues.

Along with the main team of heroes will be Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Cobie Smulders as Agent Maria Hill, who all "must reassemble to defeat James Spader as Ultron, a terrifying technological villain hell - bent on human extinction. Along the way, they confront two mysterious and powerful newcomers, Wanda Maximoff, played by Elizabeth Olsen, and Pietro Maximoff, played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and meet an old friend in a new form when Paul Bettany becomes Vision."

That isn't too much new information, but the tidbit about "uneasy alliances" is intriguing. Rumors have circulated that female superhero Carol Denvers, a.k.a. Ms. Marvel/Captain Marvel, may make an appearance in "Avengers: Age of Ultron" after Whedon made comments about the film having four prominent female roles. If Captain Marvel is indeed going to be showing up to help the Avengers defeat Ultron and his robotic army, Marvel and Disney are keeping the information to themselves.
