According to a report by the Daily Dot, Apple is ready to launch two new iPads, along with the newest version of its operating system for Mac computers.

The announcements will be made in the company's next event, which is scheduled for Oct. 21.

Sources of the Daily Dot said that Apple will be introducing the sixth generation of the iPad tablet, which is the iPad Air 2, and the third generation of the iPad mini tablet, along with the OS X Yosemite.

The newest version of Apple's operating system for Mac computers will be launched immediately after the event.

Reuters said that Apple spokeswoman Trudy Muller declined to comment on the information.

The expectations are that the sixth-generation iPad will feature a 9.7-inch screen, while the third-generation iPad mini will feature a 7.9-inch screen.

Apple is looking to boost the declining sales for its iPad tablet computers after selling only 13.3 million units in the second quarter of this year. While Apple CEO Tim Cook is optimistic that iPad sales will pick up with the company's partnership with IBM, which will push the tablet for use by enterprises, launching new iPad products before the coming holiday season will also help in picking up the tablet's falling sales figures.

The iPad is the second-biggest product by Apple, but sales for the tablet have seen declines in the previous two quarters.

The OS X Yosemite, on the other hand, is expected to be a visual overhaul of Apple's operating system for Mac computers.

In July, Apple launched the OS X Beta Program, which allowed users to simply sign up to test OS X Yosemite before the operating system was released to the public.

The OS X Beta Program for the OS X Yosemite represents the first time that Apple has allowed any user of Mac computers to test a new operating system before its official launch. Testers are required to forward feedback to Apple on the usability and quality of OS X Yosemite.

Signing up for the program was free, but testers also received no compensation for being part of it.

Apple's rumored introduction of the new iPads and OS X will come just after the company's high-profile announcement of its new iPhones, the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus, in an event held on Sept. 9.

However, record levels of preorders for the new iPhones are causing massive shipping delays for the devices, as the demand is currently outweighing Apple's supply of the iPhones.

Customers who preordered the iPhone 6 will have to wait seven to 10 business days before getting the smartphone, while those who preordered the iPhone 6 Plus will have to wait three to four weeks.
