Lenovo's powerhouse of a smartphone, the Zuk Z2 Pro, is now up for grabs via preorder in China.

Lenovo has never been known for top-tier specs in an equally high-end-priced device, but the Chinese phone manufacturer has found a way to offer flagship power on a budget.

The Zuk Z2 Pro packs the top of the line Snapdragon 820 chipset, up to a whopping 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage to boot. Moreover, the device boasts no less than 10 health sensors that can measure blood-oxygen levels, UV rate and heart rate, among others.

The price tag for this behemoth tops out at about Chinese RMB 2,699, which roughly equates to $415. That's not a bad deal at all. When the "lower end" version packing "just" 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage gets released afterward, the Zuk Z2 will no doubt come to market at an even lower price.

Unfortunately, however, the Zuk Z2 Pro will indeed only be sold in China. Great news for Chinese gadget fiends and friends from abroad who can resell the device overseas. For the rest of us in other parts of the world, we'll just have to deal.

Its limited availability is the Zuk Z2 Pro's main drawback, but the device's display also comes off as just "average" at 5.2 inches, though. It's also limited to a 1080p resolution, while other smartphones long moved past that. Also, compared with its predecessor, the Z1, the Z2 Pro surprisingly packs a lower capacity battery.

The Z1 came with a hefty 4,100 mAh battery, while the Z2 thins out at just 3,100 mAh. Hopefully, the Z2's specs don't draw too much power from its smaller battery. Otherwise, the Z2 offers more features and better specs, as a follow-up flagship should do.

It has taken a short while for the Zuk Z2 Pro to finally go on sale since its announcement more than a month ago. In fact, the actual availability of the Zuk Z2 will come exactly one week after preorders begin. That's on May 24. The lesser-powered counterpart of the device will follow a week later on May 31.

Those preferring the black Zuk Z2 will have to wait even longer. For the time being, only the white ceramic variant will be available via preorder. There is no release date set yet for the sleeker, black Lenovo Zuk Z2 Pro.
