Video gamers wanting to dip their toes into the World of Warcraft MMORPG water can do so for free if they also go and see the Warcraft movie, based on the video game, at select theaters.

Blizzard Entertainment partnered with Regal Cinemas to arrange for fans attending the movie at Regal, United Artist or Edwards Theaters to get a digital game code that allows for a free download of the popular MMORPG.

All potential players need to do is redeem their movie ticket receipt for the code. Codes are also redeemable through the end of the year.

Although it's hard to pin down a story for the World of Warcraft video game because it covers such an expansive world, the movie has a more distinct plotline. Here's the official synopsis for the film:

"The peaceful realm of Azeroth stands on the brink of war as its civilization faces a fearsome race of invaders: Orc warriors fleeing their dying home to colonize another. As a portal opens to connect the two worlds, one army faces destruction and the other faces extinction. From opposing sides, two heroes are set on a collision course that will decide the fate of their family, their people and their home. So begins a spectacular saga of power and sacrifice in which war has many faces, and everyone fights for something."

There have also been several trailers promoting the movie, including an international one that shows how these two worlds will collide on the big screen:

"From the moment I first talked to Blizzard, the plan was to start our film with the first time Orcs met Humans," director Duncan Jones said to 2p. "First contact! I think that for a world with so much newness to explain, this was a wise choice, especially when so many people in our audience may not know anything about Warcraft ... it was important that some of our characters would be seeing the world fresh as well, and that the audience could see the situation through their eyes."

It's likely that most fans seeing the film are already familiar with the game, but Blizzard is hoping to recruit more to its ranks with the free World of Warcraft giveaway. Players will also see a few of the movie's weapons added to the game with the upcoming Legion expansion.

Warcraft opens in theaters on June 10. For The Horde (Or The Alliance)!
