Samsung is allegedly looking to push out the Android L software update for its top-of-the-line Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Note 4 smartphones by the end of November or early December.

The information comes courtesy of SamMobile's "insiders" who have revealed the estimation on the release date.

"People have been wondering when their Samsung devices will get updated to Android L, and thanks to our insiders, we have an estimated time frame for the Galaxy S5 and the Galaxy Note 4. Both devices should get the Android L update by the end of November/early December -- it's not clear when Google will make the new version available for Nexus devices, but based on our info Samsung should be pretty quick at adapting it for its own devices," reports SamMobile.

Earlier in June this year, Google's Android L was made accessible for testing as a Developer Preview. However, at the time, Google did not divulge when Android L's final version would be released to the public. Rumors are rife that the update will be pushed out in early October.

Judging by the release of previous Android updates, a strong possibility exists that Android L also dubbed "LMP" or "Lemon Meringue Pie" makes its debut alongside the next-gen Nexus smartphone and Nexus tablet.

Leaks have shown LMP surfacing in the firmware description of the impending Nexus tablet. Android L is expected to bring several novel and exciting features to the table, including support for 64-bit processors and the automatic encryption of data. This feature will thwart hackers and government officials from procuring a user's personal data.

The impending Android L update is apparently called "Lollipop" internally in keeping with Google's dessert-themed names for its OS. However, by the time Android L releases publicly its name may already be changed from LMP/Lollipop. Google documents in 2013 reflected that the codename for the current Android KitKat was Key Lime Pie. However, Google changed the name after its deal with Nestle.

Whether the rumors of Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 4 receiving the Android L update by the end of November or early December bear fruition remains to be seen.
