T-Mobile has a new proposition for travelers, announcing a special three-week plan to accommodate tourists visiting the United States.

Traveling to a foreign country can be quite exciting with all the new places to visit, different people to meet and new culture to observe, but it can also be a challenge in some respects.

When it comes to mobile use, for instance, it can be quite expensive in a foreign country if you take roaming into account. Sure, if you plan to rely on Wi-Fi and communicate online only, your phone bill shouldn't skyrocket. But relying only on Wi-Fi can be frustrating, especially if you don't get a good signal in all places you visit.

T-Mobile wants to offer a convenient solution with its upcoming three-week plan, specifically crafted for those visiting the United States. Set to debut on June 12, this plan will offer 2 GB of high-speed 4G LTE data, unlimited texting (both domestic and international to more than 140 locations) and 1,000 minutes of domestic talk time.

The service will be active for three weeks, and the whole package costs just $30, which is a pretty good deal considering the otherwise expensive mobile options when traveling abroad.

"No more hunting for Wi-Fi, paying for roaming fees, or requiring a full month of service," touts the carrier. "For only $30 USD, the T-Mobile Tourist Plan connects you like a local for 3 weeks."

This Tourist Plan will, of course, require travelers to have an unlocked phone so they can use a T-Mobile SIM. Customers will not have to pay any additional fees for the SIM card or activation — that $30 plan price includes everything.

To take advantage of this offer, starting on June 12, tourists can bring their unlocked smartphone to any T-Mobile location and ask for the Tourist Plan. The T-Mobile representative will handle the activation and will provide customers with a U.S. phone number valid for the duration of the plan.

Once that three-week period expires, that's it. The plan is not renewable. It's also worth pointing out that popular T-Mobile features such as Binge On are not in the mix with this prepaid plan.
