Ever wondered what it would be like walking down the halls of The Shining's Overlook Hotel? Shining360 has you covered.

Dubbed as an experiment by Claire Hentschker, a digital artist, Shining360 was created using photogrammetry, a process that extracted and extruded 3D elements from stills from the original film and then stitched these fragments together to be viewed following the same path The Shining's cameras took.

Though it's called an experiment, Shining360 actually appears like a finished product that anyone can enjoy. Hentschker came up with a 30-minute video that viewers can experience by clicking and dragging their mouse around. Shining360 can be viewed on its own, but it can be assumed that wearing VR goggles will offer a richer experience.

In the film, the exterior of the Overlook Hotel was represented by the Timberline Lodge in Oregon. Inside, though, the hotel was heavily based on the design of the Ahwahnee Hotel in Yosemite. For instance, the Colorado Lounge in the film is near-identical to Ahwahnee's Grand Lounge at the time. If you want a feel of being in the Overlook Hotel, visiting the Majestic Yosemite Hotel (as Ahwahnee is known today) is yet another way to achieve that goal.

Earlier in the year, another The Shining experience was produced in the form of a trailer for a fictional film that transformed Stanley Kubrick's work into a comedy adventure heavily revolving around chickens and the fast food industry.

Called The Chickening, it follows the story of Jack Torrance as he starts a new job at Charbay's Chicken World as the fast food joint's senior chief night manager. A new barbecue sauce known as "The Shiny" was being developed in Jack's workplace, and strange things started happening when he decided to give the sauce a taste.

Made by Davy Force and Nick DenBoer, The Chickening debuted at the Sundance Film Festival.
