Thinking about making the switch from iOS to Android? Former Google CEO and now executive Chairman of the company, Eric Schmidt, has detailed in a 900-words guide on how to make the switch from iOS to Android.

The executive Chairman took to Google+ to share his tips and best practices to abandon iOS for Google's own Android platform. "Many of my iPhone friends are converting to Android," Schmidt writes. "The latest high-end phones from Samsung (Galaxy S4), Motorola (Verizon Droid Ultra) and the Nexus 5 (for AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile) have better screens, are faster and have a much more intuitive interface. They are a great Christmas present to an iPhone user!"

In Schmidt's guide, he outlined to Android newcomers how to import their contacts, sync their music, how to add a Google account to their devices, swap their SIM card from the iPhone and into an Android device, along with how to find apps.

Eric Schmidt also shared his thoughts on web browsers, though he made it appear as if Safari, in comparison to Google Chrome, is not free

"Be sure to use Chrome, not Safari; it's safer and better in so many ways. And it's free." notes Schmidt.

It's a good guide for any iPhone fan to switch to Android whenever they make the choice. Since the release of the iPhone 5s, some fans found the new user interface unpleasing, something Apple was not expecting. Furthermore, it doesn't appear if the iPhone 5c has started on a good note, as demand has cooled faster than the iPhone 5s, despite the device being significantly less expensive.

The Apple iPhone 5s was released on September 20, 2013. The device has a similar design to the iPhone 5, so current iPhone 5 users would feel right at home. The biggest difference, though, is the fingerprint scanner found on the iPhone 5s and the dual core 64 bit processor inside the device.

In fact, the iPhone 5s is the first smartphone to launch with a 64 bit processor. However, Anand Chandrasekher, senior vice president and chief marketing officer at Qualcomm has questioned its usefulness since the iPhone 5s does not have at least 4GB of RAM to take advantage of a 64 bit processor.
