Microsoft has been relatively quiet about Xbox One backward compatibility since E3, but the company announced seven more Xbox 360 titles that gamers now have available to them on the Xbox One.

The title that stands out the most from this new list, Fallout: New Vegas, is a game that most gamers have probably been waiting to play the most on the Xbox One.

Xbox One backward compatibility lets players who own Xbox 360 versions of games play those games on the Xbox One without needing to purchase anything new. Here's how it works: if a title is on the compatible list, players who own the Xbox 360 game insert their disc into the console and then, the Xbox One automatically downloads the software that makes that game work on the Xbox One.

"Now you can play a growing number of Xbox 360 games on Xbox One," the official Xbox One backward compatibility website states. "Experience both generations of games on one console, including digital and disc-based titles, with advanced features like Game DVR and in-home streaming to Windows 10. Keep all your game saves, add-ons, and hard-won achievements from Xbox 360."

Backward compatibility is the main advantage that Xbox One has over its competitors, and it seems that players continue to enjoy it. Since Microsoft first announced backward compatibility, it has continued to add games to its list, including many AAA titles that gamers will want to play on the new console.

The most recent list includes the following:

– Blood Knights

Comic Jumper

– Crystal Quest

Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara

– Fallout: New Vegas

– I Am Alive

– Joe Danger

– Red Faction Battlegrounds

The full and expanding list is available on Major Nelson's blog and includes Alan Wake, Fallout 3, Left 4 Dead, Mirror's Edge, Saints Row IV and The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings.

"Since the release of Xbox One Backward Compatibility with the New Xbox One Experience it has been one of the most popular features included in the update," Major Nelson writes. "Xbox fans have been enjoying the opportunity to play some of their favorite Xbox 360 titles on their Xbox One, with more titles being added regularly to the list of available games."

Fallout: New Vegas is a post-apocalyptic RPG that follows one particular Wastelander, a courier, through the devastated ruins of the desert in and around what was once Las Vegas. The game originally released in 2010 on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
