Blizzard unveiled Ana Amari last week and the new hero is officially available now on Overwatch, although just for PC players at the moment.

A new patch for the PC version of the game was released and patch notes confirmed that Ana was included in the rollout.

Community manager Lylirra also included notes on general updates brought about by the patch, like respawn time increasing by 2 seconds during Overtime and fuses burning down more quickly when a match goes into Overtime beyond 20 seconds. Hero balance updates were also in place for Bastion, D.Va, Lucio, McCree, Mercy, Roadhog, Soldier: 76 and Zenyatta and a number of bug fixes affecting maps, heroes and competitive play.

Though Ana is a new hero, she is one of the oldest Overwatch agents, having fought alongside Torbjörn, Mercy and Soldier: 76. It was also revealed that she is Pharah's mother, although the hero is unaware that her mother is still alive.

Being a sniper during her days with the organization, Ana is naturally still one now that she's back after being presumed dead. However, she's not an offensive character primarily but a support one. That doesn't mean, however, that she has a hard time shooting enemies in the face.

Armed with her Biotic Rifle, Ana can both deal damage while healing allies with her bullets.

If you're planning to use Ana, keep in mind that Overwatch Loot Boxes earned before her arrival on your gaming system will not give you access to skins, sprays, emotes, voice lines and the like for the new hero.

Overwatch's Loot Box system needs an overhaul but it's staying in place for now. Unfortunately, it's the only way for many players to unlock new items within the game.

While a PC update has rolled out, there is no word on when a new patch for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will be released. PS4 players in particular are eager for a fix as many report a glitch that makes them lose their progress in Overwatch.

Blizzard is already aware of the problem but has not shared any detail on its own progress resolving the matter.

Because of the glitch, PS4 players are finding themselves back at level 1, which can be disheartening given the amount of work that goes into leveling a character. On the upside, skins, sprays and others are reported to be intact, including plaques and stats. As for Loot Boxes, some players said they are seeing some that they shouldn't have.

Hopefully Blizzard releases a fix for this problem soon, including PS4 (and Xbox One!) support for Ana Amari.
