The Elder Scrolls: Legends open beta is now available on PC, according to Bethesda.

Announced during QuakeCon, the open beta for the competitive strategy card game will have players building their own decks set in the Elder Scrolls universe. To participate in the open beta, players simply have to download and install the Bethesda.net launcher, which some may already have if they have been playing Fallout Shelter on PC.

The Elder Scrolls: Legends starts out in a story-driven single-player campaign. Entering the game gives players five pre-constructed decks they can further build upon as the game progresses or use as starting points for completely new decks.

The goal of the game is simple: using their deck, players must lower their opponent's health down to zero. How players achieve this goal will depend on the strategy they choose to carry out.

"The Elder Scrolls: Legends is for people who enjoy playing a fast-paced card game that has depth to it, but can also be enjoyed on a surface level by casual players," said Luis Scott-Vargas, senior game designer for Dire Wolf Digital.

According to Dire Wolf Digital president Scott Martins, the game was made with two player groups in mind: fans of The Elder Scrolls looking for a new way to play in a world they already love and fans of strategy card games looking for a fast-paced game with depth.

Bethesda revealed The Elder Scrolls: Legends during the E3 2015 conference.

QuakeCon 2016 is now underway and will wrap up on Aug. 7. Coinciding with the event is the Bethesda QuakeCon Weekend sale on Steam, where discounts of up to 50 percent can be enjoyed.

The sale includes deals on games from The Elder Scrolls franchise like The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion - Game of the Year Edition and The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind - Game of the Year Edition.
