No Man's Sky is set to be one of the biggest games of 2016: a massive universe to explore ... spaceships to build ... alien life to discover.

There seems to be a nearly limitless amount of things to do in No Man's Sky's gigantic intergalactic playground. As is often the case with any major game release, retailers want to provide some incentive so you'll pick up No Man's Sky via their store and not somewhere else.

That's where preorder bonuses come in. Depending on where you buy the game, you'll be privy to a few extra in-game goodies that can help give you a running start in your trip to reach the center of the universe. Check out all the preorder bonuses available and details about the game's limited edition below.

Alpha Vector Ship – Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, GameStop

Snagging No Man's Sky at any of the retailers above will score players the Alpha Vector ship to use from the get-go. It comes equipped with upgraded lasers and a hyperdrive so that players can jump to nearby solar systems from the very start of the game, which is perfect for those eager to get on with their universe-spanning adventure.

Rezosu Z65 and Starting Boost – GameStop

In addition to the Alpha Vector ship, those who buy No Man's Sky at GameStop will also score a number of other goodies. The Rezosu Z65 is multi-tool with a plasma upgrade pre-installed, so users can mine resources faster and more safely. The "Starting Boost" contains 10,000 units right from the start, which can be used to purchase new ships, weapons and resources needed for upgrades.

Avatar Bundle – PlayStation Store

Purchasing No Man's Sky digitally via the PlayStation Store will give players access to a 10-avatar bundle for use on PlayStation Network.

Horizon Omega Ship – Steam

Preordering No Man's Sky on PC via Steam gets players instant access to the Horizon Omega ship, which comes equipped with an upgraded hyperdrive and increased firepower.

Limited Edition

The No Man's Sky limited edition went fast — really fast. Most retailers are sold out of it. Though the chances of players being able to score one of these are slim, there's always a chance of a few extras being sold at retail. So, what comes in the $79.99 No Man's Sky limited edition? A fancy steelbook case for starters, but that's not all. The limited edition of the game also comes with a No Man's Sky comic, a 48-page artbook, a dynamic PS4 theme and a number of in-game items in the form of a photonix core, trader charisma and boltcaster sim weapon blueprint.

Fans don't have to wait too much longer for their intergalactic adventure to begin. No Man's Sky arrives Aug. 9 on PS4 and Aug. 12 on PC.
