HTC is preparing to launch two midrange smartphones under its Desire series. Press renders of the HTC Desire 10 Lifestyle and Desire 10 Pro have been leaked by a reliable source.

HTC has had a rough couple of years in the smartphone world, a market it dominated before Apple and Samsung took the title away. The company has been attempting a comeback since the release of the HTC One (M7) in 2013. The handset was met with positive reviews and strong sales, largely because of HTC's design choice.

The HTC One (M7) was widely viewed as the first Android smartphone that rivaled Apple's signature premium smartphone build used with its iPhone lineup. At the time, almost every smartphone manufacturer was building devices out of cheap feeling plastic, but HTC chose to craft its handset out of aluminum and glass. The device also had top of the line specs at the time and since its launch, HTC has continued to use a similar design on its successors, the HTC One M8, One M9 and HTC 10.

HTC's current flagship HTC 10, which was released in May, has already been dropped by T-Mobile after only being offered by the carrier for two months and while the company hasn't seen much success in the high-end smartphone market, it has made a splash in the midrange market with its Desire lineup.

HTC is about to launch two new midrange smartphones, the Desire 10 Lifestyle and Desire 10 Pro. What appear to be press renders of the handsets have been published by the always reliable Evan Blass.

According to a recent report, the HTC Desire 10 Lifestyle will reportedly feature a 5.5-inch 720 x 1,280 HD display and run Android 6.0 Marshmallow, along with HTC Sense, the company's Android skin. It will be powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and offered with either 3 GB RAM / 32 GB internal storage or 2 GB RAM / 16 GB storage. The handset will pack in a 13-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front-facing shooter.

Details regarding the HTC Desire 10 Pro haven't leaked yet, but as its name implies, it's expected to feature higher end specs than that of the Desire 10 Lifestyle. The render of the handset shows it will also sport a rear fingerprint scanner, which the Lifestyle lacks. Both smartphones will reportedly include HTC BoomSound Hi-Fi Edition stereo speakers.

The HTC Desire 10 Lifestyle and Desire 10 Pro are expected to launch in late September. We'll keep you posted on any additional details.
