Samsung is ready to "talk about 3" later this month, confirming the Gear S3 unveiling for Aug. 31, before IFA 2016 kicks off in September.

The Samsung Gear S3 is one of the most anticipated smartwatches of this year, and for good reason. With the wearable market constantly gaining ground and expected to grow tremendously by 2025, Samsung is a strong player likely to up its game even further.

The company has already launched several smartwatches and the Gear S2 is widely considered its best one yet, so the upcoming Gear S3 should be even more impressive.

Samsung recently sent out invitations to its IFA event on Sept. 1, and the design of the invites with watch hands stretching over the text suggested that the company may announce the Gear S3 at the press conference.

However, Samsung has now confirmed that it will in fact introduce the Gear S3 on Aug. 31 in Berlin. The teaser doesn't explicitly mention the "Gear S3" moniker, but it does note the Gear product category along with the "talk about 3" tagline for "timely innovation."

The Samsung Gear S2 launched back in Setember 2015, rocking a sleek circular design with a rotating bezel and neat features all around. It remains to be seen just what the Gear S3 will bring to the table this year, but it's expected to sport a number of notable improvements over its predecessor.

The Samsung Gear S3 is expected to come in three variants - Gear S3 Classic, Gear S3 Frontier and Gear S3 Explorer - and target active, outdoorsy individuals. The gadget should feature an integrated GPS, as well as a barometer, speedometer, altimeter and more.

On the software front, the smartwatch will likely run Tizen OS just like its predecessor, although many fans are hoping to see an Android Wear version of the device.

Considering that Samsung is teasing "timely innovation," the Gear S3 should also boast some innovative features that its predecessor lacks, albeit it's not clear at this point just what that innovation will entail.

All in all, one thing's for sure: the Samsung Gear S3 will make its formal debut on Aug. 31 in the Tempodrom in Berlin, Germany, and we'll keep a close eye on the event to bring you the latest details as soon as they become available.
