Apple just officially announced it will be holding a press event on Sept. 7, where it will launch its next-generation iPhones. What are reportedly official specs for the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus have just leaked.

iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus details continue to leak, just as the company has confirmed earlier reports that it will be holding a press event on Wednesday, Sept. 7, which will also be live-streamed on Apple's website. The smartphones are expected to be made available for preorder on Sept. 9, and if you're planning on purchasing the new iPhones, there are reports that supplies of the handsets may be constrained at launch. The company is also expected to announce its Apple Watch 2, which will reportedly include a GPS chip and larger battery.

The latest iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus leaks come courtesy of a tipster with a decent track record of reporting leaks, and the image above, which was posted on Chinese microblogging site Weibo.

The Malignant tweeted the following about the iPhone 7 from a reliable source, "#iPhone7 from a very RELIABLE source (not me) 4.7" 1334 x 750 LDDR4 2 GB 1960 mAh 1/2.6 F1.9 12 mpx 1.35 µm pixel." The tipster soon followed with another tweet about the iPhone 7 Plus, stating, "#iPhone7Pro from a very reliable source (not me) 5.5" 1920 x 1080 2910 mAh 1/3 F1.9 1200 dual LPDDR4 3 GB."

These specs fall in line with an image that was posted on Weibo, which claims to be the official specs of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. The image also confirms the pair will be powered by Apple's latest A10 processor, which recently appeared in a leaked image of the motherboard that will be used in the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.

The image also claims that the iPhone 7 will use a 1960 mAh battery, which is larger than the iPhone 6s' 1715 mAh battery. The iPhone 7 Plus will reportedly ship with a larger 2910 mAh battery, compared with the iPhone 6s Plus' 2750 mAh battery. The pair will also be IP certified water-resistant, which backs up previous claims, as well as the larger iPhone 7 Plus packing in 3 GB of RAM, while the iPhone 7 will use the same 2 GB currently found in the iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus and iPhone SE. The iPhone 7 will pack in a 12 megapixel rear camera, while the iPhone 7 Plus will come equipped with a dual-lens 12 megapixel shooter.

Apple is expected to bump up the base storage configurations from 16 GB to 32 GB for the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus and top out storage at 256 GB. Leaked images also appear to show that Apple will introduce a new Space Black color option that will be exclusive to the new iPhones.
