LG has officially announced the LG V20 and the smartphone sports top-end specs. The mobile phone market now has a number of LG handsets such as the latest LG V20, the LG V10 and the LG G5.

LG device lovers will now face a tough question: Which LG phone to buy? Here is a quick comparison of the LG V20, LG V10 and the LG G5.

Display

The V10 and the V20 sport a 5.7-inch screen while the G5 comes with a smaller 5.3-inch screen. However, the displays of all the three phones pack in 2,560 x 1,440 pixel resolution.

LG introduced a second screen in the V10 and the V20 also has it.

Processor And RAM

A quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor powers the LG G5 and the V20. The V10 comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chipset.

All the LG offerings have 4 GB of RAM for improved multitasking.

Storage

The V10 and the V20 come with 64 GB of internal storage as standard while G5 has 32 GB of on-board storage.

All the three LG phones include a microSD card slot that can be used to expand the storage capacity to up to 2 TB.

Camera

All the three LG devices are equipped with a 16-megapixel (f/1.8 lens) primary camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and autofocus. The LG V10 and the V20 have a 5-megapixel front-facing camera while the G5 sports an 8-megapixel selfie camera.

Battery

The LG G5 has the smallest battery at 2,800 mAh. A 3,000 mAh battery powers the V10 while a bigger 3,200 mAh battery fuels the new V20.

Operating System

The G5 and the V10 run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Both the handsets are expected to receive the Android 7.0 Nougat update.

The V20 is the first handset announced that will run on Google's latest Android 7.0 Nougat straight out of the box.

Fingerprint Sensor

All the three LG phones have a fingerprint sensor for improved security. Users can also authorize transactions with fingerprint scanning, which is considered safer than passwords.

Form Factor

The V20 is the biggest handset in terms of size as it measures 6.29 x 3.07 x 0.30 inches, or 159.7 x 78.1 x 7.6 millimeters. The V10 measures 6.28 x 3.12 x 0.34 inches, 159.6 x 79.3 x 8.6 millimeters, while the G5 measures 5.88 x 2.91 x 0.29 inches, 149.4 x 73.9 x 7.3 millimeters.

The V10 weighs 6.77 ounces, or about 192 grams, making it heavier than the LG G5, which weighs 5.61 ounces, or 159 grams. LG has not revealed the weight of the V20 but being a big phone it is likely to be heavier than the G5.

Audio Experience

The V20 is the first smartphone in the market that features a 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC, which is powered by ESS Technology. The feature delivers high-quality output and is expected to attract customers who love listening to music on their phone.

"Powered by ESS SABRE ES9218, the Quad DAC in the V20 delivers clearer sound by minimizing distortion and ambient noise by up to 50 percent. With 75-stage fine volume and L/R balance controls as well as support for lossless music formats including FLAC, DSD, AIFF and ALAC, the V20 delivers high-quality sound to any pair of earphones," says LG.

This feature is not available in any other LG phone.

LG has not revealed the price of its V20 but customers should be prepared to pay a premium price for the smartphone. The Korean company announced that it will be made available in Korea within this month, while other regions may have to wait longer.

Android 7.0 Nougat and high-quality audio experience are some of the vital selling points of the LG V20.

It is highly likely that the prices of V10 and the G5 will decrease following the launch of the V20. The price reduction in these phones may entice customers looking for a new phone.

The V10 and G5 may still attract customers who do not listen to music regularly on their mobile phone and are able to wait for a few months to get a software update.
