The latest system update for the PlayStation 4 arrives on Sept. 13, and with it come a number of UI improvements, folders, a new feature called Quick Menu and more. We've detailed many of these changes previously, but now, Sony is lifting the veil on some previously-undetailed improvements that gamers will discover upon booting up their PS4 tomorrow.

One of those new features is HDR support. As announced by Sony last week during its announcement of the PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro, HDR will be supported by each and every PS4 console, as long as it is attached to an HDR-capable display. That feature launches tomorrow, with a HDR setting listed under the console's video output settings.

For players who love to listen to Spotify while gaming, the new PS4 Quick Menu will come with a handy built-in feature in which users can discover and play songs without having to actually open up the Spotify app. This feature wasn't available in the update 4.0 beta.

"From the Music section of the Quick Menu you'll now be able to play, pause, skip, shuffle, repeat and save songs," writes John Koller on the official PlayStation blog. "The Music section also allows you to discover recommended playlists for the game you're playing and view your saved Spotify playlists and songs. When you select a playlist, you'll be able to see all upcoming songs and choose to play all, or select an individual song to listen to from that playlist."

Players who plan on upgrading to a PS4 Slim or PS4 Pro will find that Sony has made the ability to transfer data from one PS4 to another far easier. As of update 4.0, you'll be able to use a wired LAN connection to transfer saves, games and user data. Sony notes that players can still use the PS4 cloud to download saves and other data onto a new console, but the LAN connection should be much faster and easier for those looking to transfer large amounts of data.

Visually, alongside improved icons and a few tweaks to the UI, players will see redesigned "What's New" and "Content Info" screens. What's New has been expanded to include a new activity feed with larger images and easy ways to like, comment and share. The new Content Info screen now gives more information at a glance about a particular game, such as trophies, install size, number of friends playing and more.
