Lenovo launched the Yoga Book, the 2-in-1 tablet, in late August this year and now the tablet is available to preorder in the United States.

The Lenovo tablet is available in Android 6.0 Marshmallow and Windows 10 variants. Apart from the operating system, both models have nearly identical specs.

Both versions of the Yoga Book sport a 10.1-inch Full HD screen with a display resolution of 1,920 x 1,200 pixels. A quad-core Intel Atom x5 processor and 4 GB of RAM are available on both the Android and Windows Yoga Books.

Customers can get the Yoga Book with 64 GB of on-board storage. The presence of a microSD card slot in both Yoga Book models allows users to expand the storage capacity of the tablet.

The unique selling point of the Yoga Book is the touch-sensitive Halo Keyboard, which also doubles up as a writing surface.

"When you want to get serious work done, just open the Yoga Book in Type Mode. The easy-to-use Halo keyboard shows up on demand - only when you need it. The software-optimized keyboard auto-completes and auto-corrects as you type - letting you work quickly and accurately. Its haptic feedback and keyboard shortcuts provide an experience that's like using a real keyboard, bringing the best of software and hardware into the smartest and thinnest keyboard yet," says Lenovo.

Both models of the Yoga Book have an 8,500 mAh battery. According to Lenovo, the Android version offers up to 13 hours of usage time in-between charges, while the Windows variant offers 12 hours of usage.

Lenovo claims that the Yoga Book is thinnest 2-in-1 in the market, at just 9.6 millimeters (0.38 inches) when closed and 4.05 millimeters (0.16 inches) at its slimmest edge - "a thickness of just under three pennies." It is also the lightest, weighing only 690 grams (1.52 pounds).

"[T]he Yoga Book is made to match the mobility of a smartphone, so you can easily hold and carry, just like a book," says Lenovo.

The sleek design and impressive features will definitely attract many customers looking to buy a new tablet. Customers in the UK were able to start preordering the Yoga Book about a week ago and now customers in the United States can do the same directly from the company's web store.

The Android version of the Yoga Book has a price tag of $499.99 and the Windows 10 model costs $549.99. Customers can choose between Gunmetal Grey and Champagne Gold color options. Tablet enthusiasts who preorder their Yoga Book will have to wait about a month as deliveries for both the variants will start from Oct. 17.
