Latest leaked images of the unannounced HTC Bolt shows the handset in silver.

HTC is likely to introduce a new flagship smartphone in the United States dubbed the HTC Bolt. Rumors suggest that the HTC Bolt could be the successor to the HTC ThunderBolt, which was exclusive to Verizon. The handset was announced in January 2011 and released within a couple of months.

Well-known leakster Evan Blass has posted an image of the HTC Bolt, giving a glimpse of what the upcoming HTC offering may look like. If the leaked image is to be believed then the HTC Bolt seems like a scaled-down version of the HTC 10, which was announced in April this year.

The leaked image of the HTC Bolt shows that the camera lens of the phone would be similar to that of the HTC 10. However, the flash module has been moved to the top of the camera lens - the HTC 10 has the flash module on the side of the camera lens. The leaked image of the Bolt does not show a laser autofocus sensor.

On the front, the selfie camera is placed on the left of the earpiece and not on the right as found on the HTC 10. On the side, the HTC Bolt seems to have two trays, which indicate that the device would support dual SIM.

The leaked image of the purported HTC Bolt does not come along with specs. However, with the HTC Bolt being a flagship phone, customers would expect impressive hardware.

This is the first time that Blass posted an image of the HTC Bolt on his Twitter page. On Sept. 14, Blass tweeted that the phone is headed to Sprint, which will leave many customers who are on other U.S. networks disappointed.

The leaked image of the HTC Bolt shows a date of Oct. 18 and time as 7 p.m. The location is set as New York. This could be the unveiling date, time and location of the HTC Bolt.

Many smartphone makers such as Samsung and LG have started launching two new flagships in a year. Though HTC has launched a couple of new mid-ranged handsets - the Desire 10 Lifestyle and the Desire 10 Pro - on Sept. 20, it should not come as a surprise if HTC announces its second flagship mobile phone of this year.

HTC has not confirmed any details or even the existence of the HTC Bolt. Smartphone enthusiasts will have to wait until the Taiwanese smartphone maker officially launches the mobile phone and confirms the specs.
