New leaked renders of the Huawei Mate 9 have surfaced, and based on them, the smartphone maker's flagship will be available in multiple color options and sport dual Leica cameras.

Anyone who has been keeping tabs on the next iteration of the Mate series probably know by now that there are a ton of rumors and whatnot circulating online already, including how it'll don a pair of rear-facing cameras and what hardware components it'll have under the hood.

Long story short, these new images more or less confirm the dual Leica camera setup and shows a wide range of color options.

Huawei And Leica Are In A Serious Relationship

Put simply, in the leaked renders, the Leica brand name can be spotted on the back of the Mate 9 between the two sensors. The rear shooter is expected to have 12 megapixels, while the front snapper could have 8 megapixels.

If the Mate 8 successor indeed goes official with Leica cameras, it should come as much of a surprise, considering how the camera manufacturer and Huawei has a history with the P9 and P9 Plus.

Potentially supporting this particular bit is the renewed partnership between the two, which made the headlines just recently.

Huawei Has A Lot Of Colors In Store To Suit Every User

As everyone can see in the images below, there are six color options for the Mate 9: gray, brown, silver, gold, black and rose gold or pink. For the record, the first four are the same as the available configurations of the Mate 8, and the last two are the new choices in town.

The Source Of The Leak

First spotted by AndroidPure, the leaked renders of the Mate 9 come from a Weibo user who goes by the name of ichangezone.

It's unclear where the user got ahold of these, but at any rate, they do seem to be the real deal, not to mention that the handset's design looks great.

Specs Refresher

A quick word on the specs: The Mate 9 is expected to house a HiSilicon Kirin 960 along with 6 GB of RAM, sporting a 5.9-inch display with a 1,920 x 1,080 resolution and running on Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. Huawei is said to offer a more affordable variant with 4 GB worth of RAM too.

Capacity-wise, options are believed to range from 64 GB to 128 GB and 256 GB of default storage. On top of that, the phablet could also pack in a huge 4,000 mAh battery to keep the lights on throughout the day.

The Bottom Line

As usual, it's recommended to take this news with the proverbial grain of salt, as no one can really be sure of anything surrounding the Mate 9 until Huawei itself gives out an official announcement.
