Sprint offers a low-end Family Share Pack that delivers value and flexibility with unlimited talk and text. Available today, the plan comes with 1GB data at the base price of $20. Previously, Sprint offers only 600MB.

Just like any other shared family plans, customers need to choose their data amount and pay the access fee that will cover each added device. Customers can add smartphones and tablets as subsidized items which shall incur costs of $25 and $10 a month, respectively. Of course, each added device will still have unlimited calling and text messages.

There is no annual service contract for non-discounted phones and no early termination fee on whatever data allowance that the customer decides and the number of devices that he plans to include.

The low-end Family Share Pack is part of Sprint's 'double-the-data' campaign, the company's latest move to attract customers to its services by offering a lower pricing scheme but with more data. Faced with a network that has yet to keep at par with the competition, Sprint needs to devise something that would save the company from losing more customers.

In addition to the new plan, Sprint also has an offer for customers from other carriers who are switching their number to Sprint. For a family with up to 10 lines, the plan includes 20GB of shared data and unlimited talk and text. It will incur a monthly charge of $100 which is valid until 2015. This means that a family of four could save up to $60 a month as compared to Verizon's and AT&T's currently offered pricing scheme that is also applicable until 2015.

The new Sprint Family Share Pack of $20 a month for 1GB shared data allowance is absolutely a better value offer. It features twice the data offered by Verizon (500MB) and more than three times the data offered by AT&T (300MB) at the same price point.

"This entry-level sharable data allowance reinforces Sprint's commitment to offering customers the best value in wireless," says Marcelo Claure, Sprint CEO. "We're offering customers a choice - whether they need a small amount of data or are a high-end data user."

Sprint is committed to offer customers in the U.S. the best data plan and wireless option at more affordable rates. With the Sprint Family Share Pack, customers can get twice the sharable data on their basic phones, smartphones, mobile broadband devices and tablets compared to what they would get from AT&T and Verizon Wireless. There's also an option to get the company's unlimited talk, text and data with the Sprint $60 Unlimited Plan which charges monthly at $60. It's a $20 savings a month compared to the $80 unlimited plan offered by T-Mobile.
