Canadian naturist John Kitchin is passionate about bears.

He takes high-resolution photos of them with a collection of trusty GoPros and posts the pics on his blog, You Me Bear. Kitchin recently decided to interview a colleague for a special feature on his blog. He invited her to a favorite location of his, a river in British Columbia that's full of salmon that attract grizzly bears.

A wooden bridge stretches across the river along with a special platform made specifically for watching the bears that come to the river to eat. But it turns out, the bears love the bridge too. It gives them a perfect vantage point for scouting out the salmon down below, and they love scratching their chins and backsides on the bridge's wood railings. Kitchin loves the bridge because he can leave a GoPro or two perched on it to capture footage of the bears, who generally ignore the cameras. (GoPros are pretty small, after all.)

On this particular day, while Kitchin was interviewing his guest, one grizzly crossed the bridge and became unusually curious about one of the cameras. The playful bear started by examining the GoPro up close, but wound up taking it out of its plastic shell and carrying it around. While it provided viewers with a "bear's eye view" of the area, somewhere along the way it bit through the camera with its powerful teeth.

See the adorable-but-destructive action for yourself.

Kitchin says that the GoPro just barely survived its adventure, but it has to be held together with duct tape now.
