Gears Of War 4 is back with updated features for its players to delve into. Packed with 280 new cards, iconic characters of the past, new weapon skins, the game has something for everyone.

This popular video game brings in a new saga where JD Fenix, along with his friends Kait and Del, must rescue their loved ones and also discover the source of the new mysterious enemy.

The update, as promised, went live on Jan. 10 at 1 p.m. ET.

Series 2 Updates

With the recent updates, the franchise gets two new maps, marking the return of old favorites Blood Drive and Clocktower. The whole new sets of creatively designed and unlockable cards are other interesting additions.

Like the other added featured maps, the duo Blood Drive and Clocktower are exclusively available in the Developer Playlist for Season Pass holders. With Blood Drive, the game becomes more intense and improves the flow of the center map pillar fights. It also offers double XP and 20 percent more credit points.

It is important to remind gamers that only the host of the party is required to have a Season Pass to enter the playlist. Here everyone who is playing the game gets to benefit from points regardless of owning a Season Pass or not.

The new weapon skin allows the player to stand out in the battlefield by taking on a new style of combat.

Update Features

While the latest update makes the maps available to Season Pass holders, the two new maps will be added to the Public Playlist from Jan. 17. Sources report that the primary intention of reintroducing the Blood Drive is to blend the best features of Gears of War 2's original gaming version and Gears of War 3's imagination into one map.

This updated version ushers a new set of cards that add to the gaming experience. The garnering of points remains the driving factor in this video game, with 13 new characters being introduced in the second series.

Game developer The Coalition hints that "a surprise legacy character will be returning as a scrap-only card very soon." This news is expected to fuel more traffic as the excitement is building up.

The Gears Of War 4 patch also includes some major changes when it comes to the pricing of the game before its launch. The pricing adjustments are hinged on the pack, ensuring the inclusion of the new features for gaming enthusiasts.

The franchise recently announced that it is looking forward to addressing some of the major concerns involving the value of the Season Pass. In addition, the XP bonus and credits have been added last month as well as earlier this month. The announcement also divulges that the Series 2 Airdrop would be provided to Season Pass holders with no additional cost.

The Airdrop includes 20 Gear Packs with 60 random Series 2 cards. Players with a Season Pass can also receive an extra login bonus on Fridays under the free Bounty Gear Pack.

The interactive sessions held by the game franchise add to the popularity of the title, such as the recent art collection event where gamers were given the opportunity to vote for their favorite armor from the entire collection.

With spectator mode improvement, the developers are planning to make it a worthwhile experience for gamers.

The update's changelog can be viewed online for additional details.
