Just in time for the holidays, U.S. carrier T-Mobile has kicked off the zero down-payment offer on latest Android devices and iPhones.

This holiday season T-Mobile is spreading the cheer by reducing the down payment on an array of Samsung and Apple devices to $0.

With the development in smartphone technology, handsets are getting costlier. Many customers do not want to get tied to a lengthy 24-month long contract, and at the same time, do not also want to pay a hefty amount upfront to buy a handset.

As such, T-Mobile's offer attracts customers where they can get their handsets financed and spread the cost of the handset over 24 months. However, to avail of the offer customers need to have a wireless plan with the carrier.

Customers can get various Apple products, including the latest iPhone 5s, the budget iPhone 5c, iPad Air, Retina iPad mini and the iPad mini, and pay nothing upfront but can distribute the cost over 24 equal instalments.

According to T-Mobile, qualifying customers have the option to get the 16GB version of the iPhone 5s for $27 per month. The 16GB model of the iPhone 5c is currently available only for $22.91 per month. The recently launched 16GB iPad Air can be bought for $26.25 per month, the Retina iPad mini for $22.08 per month and the iPad mini for just $17.91 per month.

The iPhone 5s will set consumer back by  $648 and the iPhone 5c will cost $549.84 over a period of two years. Apple store is selling the 16GB version of the iPhone 5s for $649 and the iPhone 5c for $549.

The latest T-Mobile offer will get the 16GB version of the iPad Air for $630 over two years. However, Apple is selling the iPad Air for $499, but unlike T-Mobile, customers do not have the option to finance and distribute the cost of the iPad Air over two years if they buy from Apple.

Samsung fans can get the Galaxy Note 3 for $29.50 per month, which totals to $708. The Galaxy S4 is also available for $25 per month.

Customers can opt for the T-Mobile Simple Choice Plan, which offers unlimited talk and text, and 500MB of data for $50 per month. If a customer cancels the service before the smartphone or tablet is paid off, then they will be charged for the balance amount.
