Thank God it's not a musical.

Not long ago, we heard a report that said Lionsgate Films was trying to find a way to build a theme park around its mega-franchise The Hunger Games. It was a terrible idea that we still hope never comes to fruition. How are you supposed to have fun at a theme park where the theme is the horrors of war?

In the meantime, it looks like Lionsgate has found another new place to take The Hunger Games to: the stage. The Hollywood Reporter says that what's being described as "a theatrical experience" is being planned as a live stage show. What's more, it will be housed in a special theater in London that's being built just for this show, located next to Wembley Stadium.

A pair of companies that specialize in creating high-tech entertainment experiences are partnering with Lionsgate on the project — European company Imagine Nation and Triangular Entertainment out of the U.S. It's unknown if the three companies intend to translate all four movies to the stage or if the play will be based purely on the first book/movie.

But it's expected to be a very advanced experience like nothing ever seen on stage before. Basically, think Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark without all the singing. And with a lot more immersive technology.

The show is expected to debut sometime in Summer 2016. The third installment in the film series, Mockingjay Part 1 is due in theaters November 21, 2014. Part 2 will follow in November of 2015.
