Anderson Cooper recently bought a scented candle for his office, and apparently the odor was rather... strong.

It's so strong that his staff members hate it with all their might. Every night on Cooper's CNN news show, AC360, the respected journalist takes a few minutes to comment on something silly or funny happening in the world. It's part of a segment called "The Ridiculist." On a recent edition of The Ridiculist, Cooper's staff decided to get revenge for the candle he'd subjected them to — by replacing his teleprompter script and imagery with their commentary on his disgusting candle.

And oh how sweet that revenge was. Watch.

In the space of four minutes, Cooper was both indignant about the slander against his beloved candle and a big pile of goofy giggles.

Could the candle really be that bad? As Cooper explains, he got the "obscenely expensive" candle because one of his co-workers complained about the smell coming from his jeans. (Apparently Anderson Cooper rarely washes his jeans. It's a thing.)

The office staff compares the candle's smell to a number of things, but the one that seems to get Cooper's goat the most is when it's likened to "Mario Batali's crocs." That would be these bad boys, which the celebrity chef is never seen without:

Sidenote: Did you know there's not a single photo anywhere on the Internet with Mario Batali not wearing those crocs?

Anyway, kudos to Cooper for taking his lumps in stride. He even promised to ditch the smelly candle. But viewers everywhere would like to thank AC360's office staff for gifting the world with this:
