The Bellas are back and they're as aca-mazing as ever in the first trailer for Pitch Perfect 2.

Although we missed them when they were gone, Beca (Anna Kendrick), Fat Amy (Rebel Wilson) and the rest of the incredible gang are back, and this time they're going global.

The film also brings back Elizabeth Banks as newscaster Gail. But Banks is taking on a bigger role behind the scenes of Pitch Perfect 2, as director.

In addition, Hailee Steinfeld and Katey Sagal join other returning cast members Anna Camp, Brittany Snow, Alexis Knapp and Skylar Astin.

The first Pitch Perfect retold the story of the battle of the sexes, re-imagining it as a college comedy with two a capella groups battling it out to be the best in the U.S. The 2012 film did modest at the box office, but by the time it hit DVD, it easily became the sleeper hit of the year, garnering it, and its music, a lot of attention, as well as a sequel.

This time, the stakes are even bigger, though, as the Bellas take their singing skills to the world stage, battling countries who, apparently, hate America, to become the best a capella group in the world.

"The first film flew under the radar, and it was a gift," says Banks. "This time around, much higher stakes."

The trailer starts out with the Bellas singing "Cups," the song from the first film that became a a top ten hit for Kendrick. Then we see the Bellas moving up in the world as they prepare to take on one more competition. There are also mud and pillow fights and the usual hilarity from Wilson.

"The first movie was about that transition into college, everybody was an incoming freshman, and now we're telling a story about that transitional time when you have to leave the nest and planning for your life and what your ambitions are, goals for your future, and having to say goodbye to the friends you made and go out into the big, bad world," says Banks. "While making a lot of music with their mouths."

Pitch Perfect 2 arrives in theaters on May 15, 2015.
