The Samsung Galaxy J5 (2017) and Galaxy J7 (2017) have been confirmed ahead of schedule by none other than the company itself, but it seems it wasn't exactly done on purpose.

At any rate, that means the budget phones in question now have a little more weight to them than just rumors and leaks.

Galaxy J Series To Be Refreshed

On Samsung's Korean page for the "Kids Mode" app, the company listed down compatible devices, and part of that list is the Galaxy J5 (2017) and Galaxy J7 (2017), as well as the Galaxy J7 Pop and Galaxy J7 Max.

The thing is, the two haven't been officially announced, and yet there they are. Thanks to that, it's a safe bet to assume that they'll be released in due time.

What about the Galaxy J3 (2017)? Well, it was in a similar situation just recently. Going straight to the point, it's already up for grabs over at AT&T with a $179.99 price tag or $6 a month for 30 months, and Samsung didn't make any big announcements for it. In other words, it quietly popped up on the carrier's website. Perhaps Samsung is doing the same for the Galaxy J5 (2017) and Galaxy J7 (2017), but that's a whole 'nother story.

For the record, the rest of the compatible phones include the Galaxy S8, Galaxy S7, Galaxy S6, Galaxy Note 5 and even the discontinued Galaxy Note 7, the Galaxy A3 (2016 and 2017), Galaxy A5 (2016 and 2017), Galaxy A7 (2016 and 2017), Galaxy A8 (2016), Galaxy A9 (2016), Galaxy A9 Pro, Galaxy On5, Galaxy On7, Galaxy J5 (2016), Galaxy J7 (2016), Galaxy C5, Galaxy C5 Pro, Galaxy C7, Galaxy C7 Pro, and Galaxy C9 Pro.

Samsung's Budget Phone: The Galaxy J Series

Sure, the Galaxy J series isn't as pronounced as Samsung's high-end lines, the Galaxy S and Galaxy Note, but manufacturers know that budget devices are still important, especially for emerging markets where value is important. It's worth noting that Nokia is one of those companies, banking on nostalgia to sell the modernized 3310 (2017).

To get a better idea at what components Samsung is loading its budget line with, the J3 (2017) sports a 5-inch Super AMOLED display with a 720 x 1,280 resolution and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera plus a 5-megapixel rear snapper.

Under the hood, it's packed with a 1.4 GHz Exynos 7570 Quad, 1.5 GB worth of RAM, and 16 GB of native storage that's expandable by up to 256 GB via a microSD card.

The best part is it runs on Android 7.0 Nougat from the get-go, and Samsung crammed in a 2,600 mAh removable battery that's rated to last up to 17 days on standby and push out up to 23 hours of talk time.

To boil things down, the Galaxy J5 (2017) and Galaxy J7 (2017) are pretty much well past rumors and leaks when it comes to their existence, and they have been confirmed ahead of time by Samsung itself.

Will you be grabbing one of these budget phones when they go live? If so, feel free to leave a comment below and let us know.
