Arrow has been setting up Laurel Lance to become the Black Canary for quite some time now, and it appears the event is just around the corner. Not every fan of the show is pleased with Katie Cassidy and her portrayal as Laurel, but that might soon change.

A new report has proven that Katie Cassidy, the actress who stars as Laurel Lance in the series Arrow, will have up to three episodes designed around her that is a setup to the birth of Black Canary. Some fans might have preferred Sara as Black Canary, but in all honesty, she was dubbed Canary instead of Black Canary.

Andrew Kreisberg, the executive producer of both The Flash and Arrow, explained why we haven't seen much of Laurel in the last episode, and why we won't see her in some of the upcoming episodes.

"Laurel appears in the Arrow episode. She's not as present in these episodes, but that is because we've been building up to her appearance as the Black Canary," says Andrew. "We sort of said that Sara was the Canary, but Laurel is the Black Canary. Episodes 10, 11 and 12 are a three-part trilogy that are about her. And episode 13 I think I can spoil, is called 'Canaries.' For fans of Laurel and for fans of Katie [Cassidy], they're going to get more than their fill after the winter break."

These three events are expected to take place after The Flash/Arrow crossover episodes. This means fans of the show will have to wait until after Christmas to see what Laurel is up to, and whether or not she has the stuff to become the perfect Black Canary for TV.

There are many fans of the Arrow who are not pleased with Cassidy in the role of Laurel Lance. To realize that she will become the true Black Canary, it is safe to say they are not feeling good about this move.

Because of what is happening now and the feelings of the fans, we believe this is the perfect time for Cassidy to prove her naysayers wrong. It is going to be a tough task, but if the actress really wants to make viewers happy, she has no other choice but to pull it off in spades and diamonds.
