Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite is one of the most anticipated video games for 2017, and with its modes and roster revealed, the hype train for the crossover fighting game is on full speed.

Fortunately for excited fighting game enthusiasts, the Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite release date is set for Sept. 19, leaving only one month more to wait before it arrives on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite Offline And Online Game Modes

Capcom revealed details of the entire Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite game modes, both offline and online.

For the offline modes, the main highlight is the game's Story mode, which draws players into the fight against Ultron Sigma, the combined form of two robotic villains from the Marvel and Capcom franchises.

Also included in the offline modes are Arcade, which brings Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite into a classic arcade style; Missions, which offers players with tutorials and advanced challenges; Training, which sets up a training area to help players improve their skills; Vs. Player 2, which allows two players go head-to-head; Vs. CPU, which has players go up against an AI-controlled fighter; and Collection, the database for the numerous items that can be unlocked in the game.

Meanwhile, the main online modes are Ranked Match and Casual Match. In both modes, players will fight against other players online, but they will only be able to advance their rankings in Ranked Match.

The other online modes are Beginners League, which is a special league open to players with Rank 14 and lower; Lobby, where players can create or join a lobby that allows up to eight players to engage in simultaneous matches; Rankings, which shows the global rankings of Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite; and Replay Settings, where players can configure the settings and watch replays.

Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite is already shaping up to have a better launch than another Capcom fighting game, Street Fighter V. The latest entry in the legendary franchise was released for the PC and PlayStation 4 in February 2016 with very limited modes and content.
