Even though the show is only halfway through its current run, a lot has happened during the third season of Arrow. People may still be talking about the massive Flash crossover from a few weeks ago, but it's what's to come that should have viewers excited. Following the mid-season finale this week, there's a lot about the future of the show that's up in the air. Just like any good finale, Wednesday's episode, "The Climb," left fans with a lot of lingering questions about what's in the show's future - that being said, there are some answers as to what's next for Arrow...

Warning: Spoilers for the Arrow mid-season finale follow.

Deathstroke Returns!

The last time fans saw Deathstroke, he was on his way to an ARGUS facility, a high-security island prison from which escape is seemingly impossible. Of course, this is Deathstroke: there's a good chance that Slade Wilson won't be behind bars for much longer.

THR reported that the actor behind the villain, Manu Bennett, was making his return to the show's set, meaning that fans can look forward to more of Deathstroke in the future. How will he play into the rest of the season? We don't know, but the body count will surely start to pile up.

The A.T.O.M Will Likely Debut

Ray Palmer made his grand debut in Season 3, and if that name doesn't grab you, 'The Atom' probably will. He's one of DC's veteran heroes from the comics. Of course, Palmer's introduction into the series wasn't a flashy one. Like many characters in Arrow, Palmer's debut was more like a slow burn. Palmer wouldn't be on the show if he wasn't going to become The Atom at some point, but the show never rushed its character development.

Even so, fans have already seen where Palmer's story will go: viewers caught a glimpse of the A.T.O.M. suit during "The Climb", meaning that there's a good chance Palmer will suit up after the show returns next year. Take a look at Palmer's virtual representation of the costume:

The Death of Arrow

The big news out of "The Climb" was the shocking death of Oliver Queen at the hands of Ra's al Ghul. It would have been easy for the show's creators to have Queen triumph over the villain, but it made a whole lot more sense for the centuries-old mastermind to trump the young, brash Arrow (and it was much more fun to watch, too). However, the very introduction of Ra's al Ghul implies that Queen will survive his encounter with death. In the comics, Ra's has survived for hundreds of years thanks to the Lazarus Pits: naturally-occurring chemicals that can reverse aging or even revive the dead. Ra's is known for using these pits frequently, but that doesn't mean he's the only one that can benefit from them. It's highly likely that Queen will use the Lazarus Pits to come back to life, even if it's not immediately upon the show's return early next year. Then again, Stephen Amell did tweet this following the finale:

You're just joking, right Stephen?
