Now that Black Friday has passed, the only really big shopping event left for gamers this year is the Steam Holiday Sale. Sure, there are smaller sales, like Microsoft's annual New Year's Xbox sale, but nothing on the same level as Valve's yuletide shopping spree.

Even so, it's not uncommon to see tiny flash sales go online - sometimes, these sales only last a single day, or even just a few hours. It's worked out well for a number of companies; considering games are relatively expensive and don't go on sale quite as often as other products, many publishers are utilizing these flash sales more and more often.

Amazon is no stranger to flash sales - if anything, the shopping site is one of the sale's progenitors - and today's sale is arguably one of the better deals out there. For Dec. 15 only, all versions of Assassin's Creed Unity are on sale for half-off: meaning a game that came out only a few weeks ago is just $30.

For PC users, it might be alright to just wait for the Steam Holiday Sale, but for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One users interested in the title, take advantage of the sale now. Games as new as Assassin's Creed Unity don't go on sale often, and to see such a new title at half-off is even rarer. Plus, it's only for today: make sure to get on it before the game jumps back up to full price.

If you're hesitant about Ubisoft's latest Assassin's Creed game, take a look at our review: huge fans of the franchise will be able to get into Assassin's Creed Unity, but those with less tolerance for the series' long-running issues may want to hold off on purchasing it right now.
