The PlayStation Plus free downloads for August 2018 have finally been revealed, headlined by the open-world crime drama Mafia III and the multiplayer survival horror game Dead by Daylight for the PlayStation 4.

This month, PlayStation Plus subscribers will have eight free games to download. While none of them are as popular as Bloodborne, which was offered in March, the free PlayStation Plus games for August 2018 are still pretty good.

Free PS Plus Games August 2018

For August 2018, the free PlayStation 4 games offered to PlayStation Plus subscribers are Mafia III and Dead by Daylight.

In Mafia III, players will take on the role of Vietnam vet Lincoln Clay as he comes home after years in combat. He finds out that underworld crime organizations are struggling for power in his city of New Bordeaux, which resembles New Orleans, and his surrogate family was caught in the crossfire. Mafia III is Clay's tale of revenge.

Meanwhile, Dead by Daylight is a 4-on-1 multiplayer game with four Survivors and one Killer. The Survivors try to escape the bloodthirsty rampage of the Killer, who has powerful abilities at his disposal.

PlayStation 3 owners will be able to download RPG Bound by Flame and shooter Serious Sam 3: BFE, while PlayStation Vita owners will get touchscreen-controlled action game Draw Slasher and Warhammer 40,000 classic Space Hulk.

Lastly, PlayStation VR users will also be able to download virtual reality horror experience Here They Lie and trivia game Knowledge Is Power, which requires a smartphone and Sony's PlayLink app to play.

All eight free PlayStation Plus games will be available starting Aug. 7. This means that PlayStation Plus subscribers who have not yet downloaded the free games for July 2018 still have a few days left.

The free PlayStation Plus games for July 2018 are psychological thriller Heavy Rain and customizable fighter Absolver. Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 was offered as a free download for PlayStation Plus subscribers, but it was only available until July 11.

PlayStation Hits Now Available

Sony launched PlayStation Hits on June 28, offering classic PlayStation 4 games in a familiar red label and a permanent price tag of just $19.99.

Gamers who are not satisfied with the free PlayStation Plus games for August 2018 may want to check out the titles offered under the promotion. Included in the PlayStation Hits collection are Bloodborne, The Last of Us: Remastered, Metal Gear Solid 5: The Definitive Experience, and Uncharted 4: A Thief's End.
