Jennifer Garner reportedly wants to speed up her divorce with Ben Affleck. The actor just finished his stint in rehab.

Last August, the celebrity couple's papers were threatened to be dismissed due to the lack of necessary documents that were not provided more than a year after it was filed. Despite previous news that Garner was not in a rush, things have seemed to change recently.

Garner And Affleck's Divorce

The multi-awarded actress has filed papers to expedite her divorce with the Batman actor, hoping that it will be finished before the year ends. Garner asked her divorce to be transferred from the court system to a private judge who can give them the decision faster. The divorce was filed in April last year.

"Jen wanted to give Ben the time and opportunity to work on his health and sobriety," an insider said, adding that the actress does not want to settle the custody until she is certain the Affleck is already sober.

Affleck's Battle With Alcoholism

Affleck just completed 40 days as an inpatient in rehab. This is the actor's third stint after he had an alcohol relapse.

"The support I have received from my family, colleagues and fans means more to me than I can say. It's given me the strength and support to speak about my illness with others," the 46-year-old actor wrote.

The Gone Girl actor added that fighting with his addiction is a hard and lifelong struggle. He also shared that he is battling it for his family and himself.

"It helps to know I am not alone. As I have reminded myself, if you have a problem, getting help is a sign of courage, not weakness or failure," he said.

The couple announced that they broke up three years ago, after they celebrated their 10th anniversary. However, they remained co-parents to their three kids, Samuel, Violet, and Seraphina. The two were even spotted attending church service in Los Angeles with their children recently.

Since the split, Affleck has been romantically involved with different women, including Shauna Sexton, a Playboy model, and Lindsay Shookus, a producer at comedy sketch show SNL.
