Star Wars Rebels has already featured a number of Star Wars alums returning to voice their respective characters from the films, with James Earl Jones voicing Darth Vader and Anthony Daniels providing the voice of C-3PO. Now another familiar voice will be heard on the animated show -- Frank Oz, the voice and puppeteer of Jedi Master Yoda.

Any Star Wars fan will immediately have one question on their mind: How exactly is Yoda making an appearance? Isn't he hiding on Dagobah, away from the eyes of the Empire? As you'll see in the clip below, Yoda isn't really making an appearance, just his voice, as he contacts Kanan (voiced by Freddie Prinze Jr.) through the force to provide guidance. Yoda says something has changed, and he is able to contact Kanan, whereas he couldn't before. Check out a clip from IGN:

It's hard to say how much Yoda is involved in the upcoming episode "Path of the Jedi", which premieres Monday on Disney XD, but it's great to hear Frank Oz once again as the iconic character. The show has been picking up steam as Kanan begins to seriously train his young padawan Ezra. Young Ezra has proved quite a powerful force user, but Kanan must be sure to provide Ezra the guidance and wisdom he needs in order to stay on the side of the light.

The show is slowly building up towards the reveal of a full-blown rebellion against the Empire as well. What role Kanan and his crew play in the larger scheme of events leading up to Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope is still unclear, but it will likely be significant as Disney and Lucasfilm are treating the show as official canon in preparation for the launch of Star Wars The Force Awakens next December.
