iOS 13 users have been dealing with several issues following its release, including a bug that keeps Fortnite and PUBG Mobile from working properly.

Mobile game fans flocked to Twitter to report a possible iOS 13 bug that's been disrupting their play sessions. Most of the social media complaint involve two of the most popular battle royale games around: Fortnite and PUBG Mobile.

Text-Editing Gesture Problem

The issue appears to stem from a text-editing gesture. Most mobile game shooters rely on multiple touch inputs to control player characters. Since many of these inputs are often entered simultaneously, the device's software should be able to handle each one accordingly.

However, a three-finger press-and-hold gesture introduced along with iOS 13 is causing these touch-based shooters to go haywire. It was supposed to give the iPhone more granular text editing options, but it's only getting in the way of properly using the device instead.

The text-editing gesture makes the software think that there are textfields on screen even though there are actually none. This "steals touches from the game," severely affecting users' play sessions.

The gesture problem has become such a big problem for PUBG Mobile players that its developer Tencent had to post an in-game warning message to let others know about it.

"We are aware of an issue for players who upgraded to iOS 13.0, where touching the screen with 3 fingers will trigger an iOS function and interrupt the game," the game developer said.

"We have already raised the issue with Apple, and we will continue working with them to resolve the issue. We suggest players who play the game with 3 or more fingers do not upgrade to iOS 13.0 until this issue is resolved."

Meanwhile, Fortnite maker Epic Games issued a statement to players acknowledging the problems associated with the iOS 13 release. The company said a possible fix could be in the works with the upcoming iOS 13.1.

While it's still unclear what exactly is causing the problem with the iOS 13's text-editing gesture, it's possible that Apple designed the feature to make sure that the enhanced text editing tool would only come up when users tap inside a textbox.

Some observers tested this possibility, with the tool only coming up when tapped inside text boxes, such as for Messages.

However, this theory has yet to be proven true. In the meantime, Fortnite and PUBG Mobile players are still left to wonder when the fix with the iOS 13.1 update will come out.

Fan Reactions To The iOS 13 Bug

Twitter is flooded with messages from dissatisfied mobile gamers, many of which are trying to figure out what is going on with their games.

Some users claim that they've come up with some sort of a fix for the Fortnite and PUBG Mobile gamebreaks, while others warn fellow players not to update their iPhones to iOS 13 so they won't have to deal with the problem.
