Epic Games has finally released a statement after banning Fortnite superstar Jarvis Kaye from the KaZe clan and gaining backlash from the player's followers and his fellow Fortnite gamers.

Epic Games Comments

According to TMZ, the developers behind the massive battle royale game will not be cutting the player some slack after he was caught cheating in a game, saying, "We have a zero tolerance policy for the usage of cheat software."

They continued with their statement, saying that anyone who uses cheat technologies like aimbot "to gain an unfair advantage" is ruining the game for those who are playing it fairly.

Jarvis Kaye uploaded a video on his YouTube channel explaining the situation.

The issue first blew up when Jarvis himself uploaded a video on his YouTube channel with over 2 million subscribers.

He said that it was his first ban ever, and that he did not even anticipate getting banned for life when he used the aimbots for the solo and playground modes, and that all he was thinking was how it would be entertaining and interesting for his subscribers to watch.

The punishment could also put an end in his career as a professional Fortnite gamer as he wouldn't be able to participate during competitions.

He continued to say that the game has impacted his life in a big way and that he wasn't even sure what he would be doing now if Fortnite did not exist.

Besides posting a video on YouTube and apologizing for his mistake, the 17-year-old gamer also sent out a post on Twitter, saying he accepts the decision by Epic Games, thanking his supporters, and telling them, "this is not the end."

Numerous Fortnite gamers gathered behind Jarvis Kaye and expressed their support for him and using the hashtag #FreeJarvis to voice their concerns, especially when the young player was using aimbot during a recreational game from his second account.

A Hefty Punishment?

According to a report by Dexerto, many are surprised with the heavy punishment and disappointed with Epic Games' decision since it did not happen during a competitive scene and considering how one other Fortnite pro gamer, XXiF, was also caught cheating during the World Cup, but only acquired a two-week ban.

Although many are supporting Jarvis Kaye, other people on Twitter are supporting Epic Games' decision and finding the pro gamer as guilty. Some people also believe that while Kaye was indeed at fault, the permanent ban seems to be a little too hefty as a punishment.

What do you think? Is Jarvis guilty and deserving to be punished for life? Or do you think Epic Games is unfair?
