This week, Rayman Legends is free for all users of the Epic Game Store. As these past few months, Epic has been giving away free games to anyone who wants one. A person just has to log in to the Epic Game Store either through the website or through the downloadable client, log in with their account and claim the free game of the week.

Usually priced around $20, Epic is giving away this game from the highly popular platforming series, which is developed by Ubisoft. Rayman Legends is a sequel to Rayman Origins, a soft reboot for the franchise. The game features the usual side-scrolling platformer gameplay infused with a colorful and popping art style. The game can be played by up to 4 players, either locally or through online play, so make sure to tell your friends to grab it as well.

The game has been praised for its tight controls, memorable soundtrack, impressive level design, and a large amount of content. It even includes remastered levels from Rayman Origins.

And while you're at the Epic Game Store, why not pick up some games while they're cheap. Epic, like most other digital storefronts, has a Black Friday sale that runs from Nov. 22 to Dec. 2. Recently released games such as The Outer Worlds and Red Dead Redemption 2 have some significant discounts, while older games are slashed up to 75% off.

Previously Released Games For Free

Rayman Legends is Epic's fourth free game of the month. Last week, Epic gave away Bad North a mini-Real Time Strategy game developed by Raw Fury. Bad North gives you command of a flurry of troops on an island, and it is your job to position them wisely to repel off invading Vikings.

From Nov. 14 to 21, The Messenger was available for free. This side-scrolling action platformer was inspired by Ninja Gaiden. In The Messenger, you control the titular Messenger who is tasked to deliver a scroll to the top of the mountain. The game won several awards before its release.

From Nov. 7 to 14, Users were able to grab RUINER at a low cost of $0. The top down shooter, set in cyber dystopian metropolis Rengkok, gives the player command of a renegade psychopath set on dismantling the mega-corporation HEAVEN. The game borrows a lot of aesthetic design from cyberpunk anime such as Akira and Ghost in the Shell.

Nuclear Throne was freely available last Nov. 7 to 14, as well. Also, a top-down shooter, the game incorporates a lot of roguelike elements. With 12 characters, 10 of which unlocked through gameplay, the player is tasked to clear each subsequent level until they defeat the final boss, named the Nuclear Throne. Upon its defeat, the player may choose to restart the game with highly increased difficulty and can repeat this loop until their character dies. As a roguelike, most progress never carries over each run. However, users are awarded "crowns," which they can use to unlock mutations. Once these mutations are unlocked, players can begin acquiring them through each subsequent run. Once they have 10 mutations, they can choose a character-specific ultra-mutation.
