Before Avengers superheroes emerged in today's generation, 80's kids were already mesmerized on one iconic blonde-haired superhero named He-Man. And though it has been a long ago after it's first released in television and comics, fans of He-Man still wish to see him use his superhuman strength to defend the Universe against the evil forces of Skeletor. Sounds nostalgic, isn't it? Not until Netflix announced that they are re-creating the famous superhero on its 2nd reboot in television series.
'He-Man' on Netflix
In Dec. 19, Netflix tweeted the said awesome announcement of He-Man reboot, which they'd posted a frightening picture of the comic's nemesis, Skeletor, along with a caption, "A young prince discovers a mighty power, and an epic story begins once more! He-Man and the Masters of the Universe wage a new battle against Skeletor in a reimagined take on the classic franchise."
He-Man Reboot Soon To Be Shown in Netflix, Will There Be a She-Ra Spin-Off?
According to the Comic Book website, the said reboot will be made up of computer-generated animation (CG-animation) to be created by Netflix and Mattel Television-the original creator of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe.
As also reported by them, the show will focus on He-Man and his adventures into battling against Skeletor and become the Master of the Universe.
"On the planet of Eternia, a young lost prince discovers the powers of Grayskull and transforms into He-Man, Master of the Universe! The classic battle between He-Man and evil Skeletor rages to new heights as both hero and villain forge new and mighty teams. A new generation of heroes fighting for the fate of us all. At the end, who will become Master of the Universe?," reports Comic Book.
Who is 'He-Man'?
Started from being illustrated in comic books as the most powerful man in the universe, He-Man was brought to life on different forms of entertainment such as TV series and even movies back then. Aside from this, the superhero also gained fame on various comic strips and video games, wherein lots of 80's kids remembered doing even now.
However, though He-Man is one of the strongest men in the universe, his sister in the series named She-Ra also had her own TV spotlight from the past. When He-Man fights Skeletor, She-Ra was then fighting The Horde from their planet Etheria.
With the success of both franchises, lots of fans asked whether She-Ra will be appearing on Netflix's reboot of the show-- introducing a spin-off since Netflix already launched a different reboot for She-Ra back in 2018. Sadly, the crossover between the two 'most powerful brother-sister in the Universe' seemed to be not happening-- thanks to Netflix.
Is this Different from Kevin Smith's MOTU's Netflix Series?
Netflix also recently announced the launching of the 2-D animated series of director and writer Kevin Smith-- the 'Masters of the Universe: Revelation.' Though the same series features both He-Man on its content, Netflix said that there will be a huge difference between the two programs. Do you know what this means?
