Here's the latest Ultimates Tier list for the Blizzard's popular multiplayer arena shooter Overwatch. Read the article to learn more.

For the past four years, Overwatch has consistently been one of the most played online games in the world. With its competitive scene in the US helping the game grow, it looks like Overwatch won't be leaving our machines anytime soon. Because of that, Blizzard continues to support the game with updates and even new content.

The new heroes and abilities that come with every update take time to learn, and frankly, not everyone has the time to learn all the new heroes that come out.

That's why we put up a tier list. Since the heroes are all versatile, we believe tiering them would limit people's usage of those characters to the fullest. Instead, we prepared a tier list for the ultimates whose usefulness is much easier to judge.

We judge the ultimates based on a couple of parameters. Most important is the Ultimate's ability to easily dispose of enemies. Next would be how well protected the hero is during that time. Finally, we also consider how helpful the Ultimate is in scoring more kills for your team, either by keeping your party alive or by zoning out opponents.

Without further ado, we present Tech Times' Overwatch Ultimate Abilities Tier List

TIER D: Barely Usable Ultimates

  • Mercy
  • Ashe
  • Widowmaker
  • Soldier: 76
  • Bastion
  • Symmetra
  • Wrecking Ball
  • McCree

We start off with eight heroes, some of whom used to have very powerful ultimates, but have since been nerfed or replaced by better ultimates that have been introduced later on. This is especially true with Mercy, who used to have a very powerful resurrection spell until it got replaced with Valkyrie.

TIER C: Could Use Some Improvements

  • Torbjorn
  • Roadhog
  • Genji
  • Wilson
  • Junkrat

In this tier, we see ultimates that have high potential in doing damage and killing off foes but could use just a little bit of change to make them even more useful. These heroes may be left vulnerable when casting their ultimate or will require them to compromise their position and be put into the crossfires. Junkrat also could make much more chaos if only his tire isn't so easily destroyed by enemies.

TIER B: Useful Most of the Time

  • Tracer
  • Pharah
  • D. Va
  • Moira
  • Brigitte
  • Reaper

These ultimates don't really have big drawbacks, but they require much more precision than the higher tiered ultimates to make them effective. You could simply use these ultimates anytime you want, but its success depends on how well you position yourself more than anything else.

TIER A: Use As Much As Possible

  • Doomfist
  • Hanzo
  • Ana
  • Baptiste
  • Orisa
  • Lucio
  • Sombra

Meanwhile, these ultimates are useful at almost any point in the game. As long as you have your sights on the right target, you could be confident in pulling the trigger. With the right timing and positioning, you could blast off the enemy team with no warning. These ultimates could easily turn the tide of any battle.

TIER S: God-Like Ultimates

  • Mei
  • Zenyatta
  • Zarya
  • Reindhart
  • Sigma

Finally, we have the cream of the crop for ultimates. These ultimates could single-handedly win games when timed correctly. But what stands out from among the rest is Sigma's ultimate, which could only be countered with a well-timed Lucio ultimate. It kills off enemies fast and renders them useless, if not yet dead, making it the single most powerful ultimate in Overwatch right now.
