There has been another newer video game that has been getting quite the amount of attention because of the quality gameplay as well as the amazing narrative and this game is called The Last of Us!
HBO must have picked up on The Witcher's success on Netflix and are now trying to emulate what Netflix did by taking a popular video game and turning it into a whole new series! Will the upcoming The Last of US show be better than The Witcher? We'll find out this May when the upcoming sequel drops!

Hollywood and video games are going in the same direction
There have been a couple of crossovers between the movie industry and the game industry like Mortal Kombat, need for speed, and so many other movies and even series to mention. But it seems like none of these projects have ever been able to reach the mainstream success which The Witcher was able to generate huge success through the merging of the game's original fan base along with the fans of Game of Thrones which has just recently ended.
This is the brilliance of Netflix because not only do they know which projects to work on, they also know the perfect time to release them!
How video games and Hollywood have worked hand in hand
Sometimes the film comes first and sometimes the game comes first but either way, these are two different platforms to generate profit. Franchises which have been massively successful in one field usually attempt to dominate the other as well just like how Star Wars or Lord of the Rings has their very own video games as well after gathering their popularity from their films.
The games have been doing quite well but they have not been able to be as successful as the movie itself. In fact, the only successful movie to video game franchises was Silent Hill and even the recent Warcraft film.
HBO has a great opportunity with The Last of US
The Last of Us has been a great video game which fans of The Walking Dead have started to try to play as the whole zombie apocalypse has gained its mainstream success and fans are not yet ready to give up this hype!
The zombie genre has already existed for quite a while and although there was a time where almost every movie was a zombie move and at some point the public got tired of this. Luckily when the hype died down, The Walking Dead was able to reemerge and bring back the spark to the whole Zombie genre rekindling the interest of previous fans of this genre as well as gathering new ones!
Fans might have to wait for a while
The show is not yet coming anytime soon and HBO has not yet released an official date as to when The Last of Us would show. The Witcher is still by far the most popular video game film but if there is one thing about the whole Netflix vs. HBO feud, both of them are not joking around and really create good content!
