Update 12.21 is launching soon

Fortnite is now preparing for its 12.21 update that will be launched on March 24. Meaning, downtime will be expected on the servers.

When will the servers go down?

According to Epic Games, reported by Express, all Fortnite servers and platforms will be pushing through its downtime on March 24. This means the Battle Royale mode will be playable during this time while the servers are offline.

The Fortnite Developers team has updated on their official status site that the downtime on March 24 can actually last up to three hours in the least. Though, the good news is it will all come back sooner for PS4, Switch, Xbox, PC, and mobile gamers.

Time-wise, Epic Games have already confirmed that Fortnite server downtime will be starting at 6 am GMT. For players in the United States, this will mean that these servers will be offline by 2 am ET, creating more disruption as usual.

Epic Games on Twitter has also said that "Hey, all! v12.21 is scheduled for Tuesday, March 24. Downtime begins at 2 AM ET (0600 UTC)."

Lots of players have been pretty much excited to see what's coming on this new update, especially when it comes to game changes and additions.

Speaking of which, players have been expecting bugfixes, and updates on the new Choppa vehicle which was added to the game last week along with other updates. This allows a full squad to jump in the chopper and take out enemy teams.

Epic has also opted to destroy the oil rig though, it is not confirmed by patch notes.

There are some confirmed bug fixes for the update which includes, players not being able to pick up some items when auto-pick up is on, the Harpoon Gun unsuccessfully catches loot, lockers items cannot be saved in the payer's style selection, and that players may often get stuck on the 'Select Tech' tab scree in Spy Games mode.

Since the downtime or server shutdown will be happening at 6 am GMT on all platforms, along with the process of kicking players this will be closer to 2 am if you are playing in the United States. With that being said, Epic Games downtime will last for at least 3 hours but will be possibly back by 9 am.
