After 8 years of waiting, Mount and Blade 2 is finally happening

There have been tons of release delays for the sequel of this game from its developers TaleWorlds but this latest news is pretty much a good one since it will be coming in just a few days on Steam Early Access in March as the developers bring the dates forward.

TaleWorlds has already confirmed that they will be changing the launch date and will be scheduled and set for Monday, March 30, 2020, 10 am GMT. It will also be hitting Steam Early Access on the same month.

The reasons for these changes as told by the development team is because of the coronavirus pandemic. According to Express, the team has stated that "With the help of our IT team, have been able to continue work on the project from home. This has come with its own challenges of course, but we are still very grateful and lucky to work in an industry where it is possible to work remotely, which we know isn't the case for many of you"

They have also said that it might seem as though it is like a pretty ideal time to release a game, but the current predicament we are all in has placed a lot of people in a very difficult position when it comes to the balance of their finances and risking the wellness of their health.

With that in mind, the team has then decided o make the game available for at least 10% off on the first two weeks, and in addition to this, anyone who currently owns any previous Mount and Blade title will have the chance to get an additional 10% off in selected stores.

Bugs and Crashes should still be expected during early access

As it will be on Steam Early Access, it is to be expected that there will be bugs to fix and crashing issues and loading times and other wrinkles to iron out as days go by.

Some features in the game will also be missing in this version, which will, of course, be available eventually in the game through the early access system. Gamers on launch day will also be able to do custom battles with multiplayer beta continuing and some campaign modes.

Another message for TaleWorlds has added that when it comes to the multiplayer content in-game, players can expect a continuation of the multiplayer beta which will be featuring four game modes, namely, Siege, Team Deathmatch, Captain and Skirmish.

They will also be continuing to work on this game feature throughout the Early Acces by adding more game modes and additional content in the future. The team will be enabling their community to host private servers closer to the game's full release.
