Epic Games has recently posted an announcement on Fortnite's official Twitter account for status updates, saying that server downtime will be happening as they roll out the latest update for the game: patch 2.66, v.12.30.1.

Now, the servers are back up again--but what can we expect with the latest update?
Maintenance Update for Fortnite
According to Fortnite Insider, it's only a maintenance update, meaning Epic Games only fixed several issues with the game and rolled out some enhancements for a better gaming experience as well.
That means we won't be seeing any new weapons, characters, or any significant changes to the game for now.
Nevertheless, it's expected that Fortnite Chapter 2, season 2 will end at the end of the month, so fans are waiting to see some major updates for the next few weeks or so.
No Big Changes
For this maintenance update, Epic Games did not offer a full list of fixes, although they tend to update fans and players through their Trello board, which is open for the public to view and comment on to report bugs.
However, here's what Fortnite players can expect that have been fixed with the latest maintenance update:
- Fixed issues with crashing when changing styles for cosmetics in the Locker.
- Fixed issues with controllers that may not vibrate when the player takes damage.
- Codeaxe Pickaxe has been re-enabled.
- Low-quality PS4 map textures are enhanced.
- Stability fixes to improve Fortnite
The Fortnite maintenance update comes after update 2.65 (v.12.30) with a size of 2.6GB, which was released last week and brought some changes to the game, including a Door Gallery Update and interacting with Button Devices.

Skye's Adventure Week 8 Challenges Leaked
There are no leaks with the latest update, but data miners managed to mine the Week 8 challenges for Agent Skye, or Skye's Adventure Part 2.
Skye's Adventure has already started last week, meaning Fortnite fans can expect another set of challenges from the Agent before we move on to Midas, the previous Agent.
TechTimes has previously created a guide for Skye's Adventure part 1 challenges, including the location of the Box Factory as well as the locations of Rapid's Rest and the Gorgeous Gorge that players need to visit.
For Week 8, here is the next set of challenges for Skye's Adventure part 2, courtesy of Forbes:
- Search chests at landmarks - 10
- Eliminate players with SMGs from within 15 meters - 3
- Hit 5 consecutive weak points while harvesting materials - 3
- Fly a Choppa under the red, purple, and blue steel bridges - 1
- Stoke, a Campfire, consume a Foraged Apple, consume a Foraged Mushroom - 1
- Land at The Shark and visit The Agency in the same match - 1
- Hit pistol headshots on players or Henchmen - 10
- Search Skye's Sword in a Stone found in high places - 5
- Block damage with a Kingsman - 200
- Bounce on Crash Pads in different matches - 3
Most of these challenges are straightforward and include the Kingsman umbrella and Crash Pad from the last major update.
