Your Android device may have malware installed without you even knowing it. However, these four signs may help you identify if your phone has one. CNET reported that a malware installed on your device might be hard to spot. Pesky mobile ads were claimed to be removed by a mobile app called "Ads Blocker".

These annoying ads can cover up your screen when you're about to access something important. Later on, experts found out that Ads Blocker is a malware that deploys more ads on a device. The fake app is just one example of malware that plague Android users with a huge number of ads. Malware will use these ads to collect personal data by harvesting fake clicks.

"They're making money, and that's the name of the game," said a researcher at Malwarebytes who helped identify the bogus ad blocker in November 2019, Nathan Collier. Other malware is more dangerous than adware. This malicious software or apps can steal personal information from your device.

Here are the four signs that you need to know to identify if your device is infected;

- You have apps on your device that you don't remember installing

- Your device's battery is running low faster than usual

- The icon of your latest installed up disappears on your screen

- There are ads popping up constantly, regardless of which up you access

Here's what you need to do if you have a malware on your device

There are many safety measures that you can do to protect your personal data from malicious software installed on your phone. Some of the software on a device have updates that can cut off the access of the malware. Android 10 and the upcoming Android 11 have these software updates.

Check what permission do your applications have, and check your apps that ask for permission, which are not necessary, such as games that sends a request for SMS messages access. Installing an antivirus app is also one of the most effective ways to prevent malware.

Some of the best antivirus apps are Norton, Lookout, Malwarebytes, or Bitdefender. You can also consider deleting those applications that were installed from third-party app stores.
