Pokemon GO's Enigma Week is coming right after Dragon Week, and like the previous event, there will be special spawns and Battle Raids.

Deoxys for Legendary Boss Raids

For this week's Ultra Unlock week, players will have a chance to defeat and capture Deoxys--or if you're lucky, its Shiny version. But before anything else, you'll have to beat this Psychic Pokemon that will spawn in five-tier Legendary Battle Raids.

Nevertheless, beating Deoxys is easier said than done if you haven't encountered it before in a Pokemon GO battle.

You might end up using the wrong type of Pokemon who is vulnerable to its attacks, or use a Pokemon type that won't do it that much damage. When it comes to five-tier raids, you'll want to use nothing but your best Pokemon, provided they're strong against the Legendary Pokemon in question.

According to iMore, Deoxys has four different types, specifically Normal, Speed, Attack, and Defense, which significantly affect the battle that will ensue. Players could know what form they're up against based on the Pokemon's shape and the configurations of its limbs.

But based on the report, Niantic is apparently only bringing its Normal Form back to Pokemon GO, making it easier to know which monsters to use.

How to Defeat the Legendary Pokemon

Deoxys is a pure Psychic-type and is therefore weak to Dark, Bug, and Ghost-types, so you'll want to choose your strongest Pokemon in these categories and avoid using Psychic or Fighting-types as it is resistant to them.

Nevertheless, you can use Psychic Pokemon like Mewtwo and Alakazam that can be taught powerful Ghost Charge moves.

With that, here are some of the best Pokemon GO counters you can use against Deoxys, according to PokemonGO Hub:

• Mewtwo with Psycho Cut + Shadow Ball
• Tyranitar with Bite + Crunch
• Gengar with Shadow Claw + Shadow Ball
• Absol with Snarl + Dark Pulse
• Banette with Shadow Claw + Shadow Ball

If you don't have any of these Pokemon, here are more viable options to counter a Deoxys:

• Pinsir with Bug Bite + X-Scissor
• Sharpedo with Bite + Crunch
• Houndoom with Snarl + Foul Play
• Scizor with Fury Cutter + X-Scissor

Of course, some of the best all-rounder Pokemon are the best bet compared to some of these recommendations, especially if their Charge moves recharge quickly. That means you can pull out your Salamence, Rayquaza, or Dragonite to substitute for the Pokemon you might not have.

Bring Your Best Friends and Shiny Odds

Besides the Pokemon you use, you should also call out your Best Friends on Pokemon GO to join you with the raid.

A couple of level 40 Pokemon GO players with a vast array of Pokemon counters against Deoxys, including weather boost and Best Friend boost, could easily take it down.

However, a team of four or five with levels 35 and above could also take down this Legendary Pokemon with more ease and confidence.

When it comes to Shiny odds, you can only get a chance to encounter a Shiny Deoxys in one out of 20 raids, so if you're adamant in getting this version, stock some Battle Raid Pass and remote ones and join as many raids as you can.
