Lebron James has recently shown off in Twitter the new Tune Squad jerseys for Space Jam 2: A New Legacy via his LeBron James Family Foundation on Monday, August 17.
The tweet said, "Would it be the Family Reunion without a special surprise?!" and it comes with a snap of Lebron wearing the new jersey for the movie.

Unlike in the original 1996 film where Michael Jordan and Bugs Bunny wore a classic white jersey inspired by Chicago Bulls' red and white uniform, the sequel will feature a much brighter, more modern version.
Instead of having the Looney Tunes' concentric circle logo in the chest part, it is now a major design feature that wrapped across one side of the uniform in its new teal base color. Also, compared with the 1996 version, the "Tune Squad" uses a more playful font that seems more cartoon-like. Meanwhile, LeBron's logo has been added to the left shoulder.

This would be an addition to colorful uniforms that James has worn in the National Basketball Association from the bright yellow and purple uniforms of Los Angeles Lakers to different shades of blue for Cleveland Cavaliers jerseys.

Space Jam: A New Legacy is not a sequel
Meanwhile, Screen Rant clarified that the new Space Jam is not a direct sequel to Jordan's 1996 film, but a "reboot for the IP," as confirmed by its official title, Space Jam: A New Legacy.

Although there no details about the plot have been revealed, it will surely include a team-up between Looney Tunes and LeBron and another basketball game. Aside from James, numerous NBA and WNBA stars have are also confirmed to appear in the cartoon.
Space Jam: A New Legacy is scheduled for release in the United States on July 16, 2021, and the uniform reveal could be the start of the film's marketing.

While Warner Bros. has not yet announced any changes regarding the playdate, it would be a go for the movie's showing in July 2021. After all, the live-action parts of the movie have already been completed as early as March this year. Unlike the move, the coronavirus pandemic halted the NBA, James is currently training as the playoff series between the Las Angeles Lakers and the Portland Trail Blazers.
In 1996, Michael Jordan played on the big screen while he was on a break from the NBA and the Chicago Bulls. The original Space Jam was a box office success with over $250 million worldwide sales, in which $90.4 million was earned in the United States. Aside from the financial earnings, Space Jam has also become an iconic film enjoyed by kids and adults alike in the 90s.
Since then, discussions about having a sequel surfaced from time to time. James first aired his interest in doing the project in 2012, but it was confirmed in 2016. There have been changes with the director, Malcolm D. Lee made the final cut in July 2019.
With nothing definite about the story yet, Space Jam: A New Legacy will surely excite the public.
