Devolver Digital and Mediatonic's Fall Guys have done massively well since its launch that tons of brands immediately joined the so-called Battle of the Brands created by the developers.

The Battle of the Brands

In a previous post by TechTimes, the Battle of the Brands began when various brands started showing interest in the game, so Mediatonic created the charity auction bid with the winner getting his own in-game costume.

To join, brands only need to show their pledge to the UK-based charity Special Effect, a non-profit organization that helps people with disabilities still play and enjoy video games.

The pledges started from $10,000 from other gaming companies, but soon enough, brands from various other industries began joining, including a bidet manufacturer that, at one point, led the bidding.

After two weeks, the Fall Guys costume auction had come to an end, and Mediatonic was able to raise $1 million for Special Effect successfully.

So, who won?

A Four-Way Win

According to Gamasutra, the auction was won when well-known internet star and professional gamer Tyler "Ninja" Blevins, YouTube personality and philanthropist Jimmy Donaldson or more popularly known as MrBeast, esports club G2 Esports, and FPS training solution Aim Lab was able to bid the million-dollar pledge collectively.

Based on the report, the bid was also submitted at the last minute.

Sure enough, the winners will get their very own, unique Fall Guys costume that will carry their brand.

But Mediatonic is not the only one happy with the pledge as SpecialEffect explained that the donation would be of extreme help for them to "boost all aspects" of its work, especially as funding has been low due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"A huge thank you to MrBeast, Ninja, G2 Esports, and Aim Lab for their amazing generosity, and to Mediatonic and Devolver Digital for this unique initiative," Dr. Mick Donegan, the CEO and founder of Special Effect said.

"When the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions hit earlier this year, the charity was facing a significant reduction in funding income due, in part, to many of its key fundraising events being canceled or postponed," Dr. Donegan further explained. "As a charity that doesn't charge for its services, this donation will be invaluable in helping to make up for that shortfall."

With the donation from the four bidders, the organization is now capable of helping people with severe disabilities and developers around the world who are asking for their help.

The founder also said that the number of people they are trying to help is growing each year.

Chinese Mobile Version?

Fall Guys has quickly won everyone's hearts with the adorable bean-persons and the colorful and chaotic environment it creates.

However, the game is only available for PS4 and PC via Steam, so those who don't own these will have to wait for Mediatonic and Devolver to create a mobile version that will be available for fans around the world.

According to a news report by The Verge, a Fall Guys mobile version has been confirmed, but it will only be available in China.
